Created during my studies at eikon.
This video originated from a workshop on the theme of “behaviors and dangers associated with digital media.” Together with Victor Bertschy, we came up with a two-part story: two videos that, when viewed together, reveal the key to the mystery.
The first part is filmed; in fact, we are the only actors in it. The second part is an animation; it serves as a direct message from the malicious company featured in the short film.
This pair of videos is inspired by “analog horror,” a genre characterized by low-quality footage, cryptic messages, and a retro aesthetic reminiscent of late 20th-century media. It has become a full-fledged internet phenomenon, giving rise to remarkable web series such as The Monument Mythos, The Mandela Catalogue, The Greylock Tapes, and others.
